Wag N Wash

Wag N Wash

As a dog lover who is always learning how to better care for the sweet dog(s), I’m honored to have in my family, I like to find businesses that provide the supplies I need to give the best possible care. It is also important for us to see happy staff. If the staff members are happy, it leads us to believe they are being treated well by the company and the staff will also treat our dogs with love and their customers with kindness. So, when I lived in Colorado Springs and a friend of mine told me about Wag N Wash, I had to visit the nearest location.

Thankfully, the Uintah location was only a mile or two from my (previous) apartment. At that time, I had my sweet pitbull Diamond, and bath time was a bit difficult on both of us since she had her leg amputated due to cancer. I needed a raised bath tub that gave me the ability to spray the water only when I needed it. When I walked in with Diamond, the staff adored her and loved on her. They assisted me in choosing the bath that would be best for her sensitive skin and brought the supplies I needed to the tub that was clean and open.

Diamond was able to lay down and I was able to spray the water as needed before and after her shampoo, while standing. It was so much easier than kneeling next to the tub and not having a sprayer nozzle at home. The warm conditioner (I believe) really soothed Diamond’s sensitive skin and had a very nice, gentle scent. After I finished rinsing off the conditioner, I put towels down and transferred her to the dryer table where I dried her with towels and finished with the blow dryer. I always made sure to get her a treat from the cookie case before leaving, since she was always such a good girl even though she hated bath time.

While waiting our turn at the register after one of her baths, I noticed they had doggy birthday cakes! I instantly knew I had to order one for Diamond’s 13th birthday celebration! As her birthday got closer, I ordered a pink frosted birthday cake with “Happy 13th Birthday Diamond,” in purple icing. It was the perfect size, decorated as I requested, and was ready for pick up as scheduled when I arrived. We threw her a small birthday party with friends, and she enjoyed her cake. I also dressed her like a princess for her and photographed her. We used her cookies for motivation to pose.

Diamond loved the people and other dogs she saw at Wag N Wash. She might not have enjoyed her bath as much, but she always felt so much better after it was over. Though Diamond is no longer with us and I haven’t been to a Wag N Wash in years, I can’t imagine much has changed since their business model and staff are the best I’ve seen when it comes to pet care and supplies. If you have one near you, you should definitely visit them. If you don’t, I’m sorry you’re missing out as much as I have been since we moved from Colorado.
